We are a Not For Profit company operating easy access public bus services throughout County Clare and parts of south County Galway. Established in 2003, we currently fulfil an average of 4,300 passenger journeys every month.  We are funded primarily by the National Transport Authority. The HSE also contribute towards some of our services.

Everyone! Passengers use our services to get to Work, School & College, Training Courses, Shopping, Health Care appointments, and Social & Leisure activities. Our buses provide easy access for all, including people with reduced mobility such as wheelchair users.

Tickets are available around the county from our Outlets and via our Travel Centre or you can purchase them online here (if you are a registered Member).

Yes, we are delighted to accept Free Travel Passes. You will need to advise us of your Free Travel Pass number when you register with us, and carry it with you when travelling.

Only Northern Ireland Senior SmartPass holders are entitled to travel for free on services in Ireland using their existing Senior SmartPass

You must buy a ticket prior to travel, which can be purchased from our countywide ticket outlets ; from our website www.clarebus.ie via PayPal, or directly from the Clare Bus office, The Creamery,  Feakle,  Co.Clare

Yes, children under 5 travel free of charge, children under 16 travel at a reduced rate.

We provide CE approved Baby Seats, Child Seats & Booster Seats. Advance booking is essential for these seats. Please advise us of your needs when you book with us. For Health & Safety reasons, passengers may not use their own seats.

Yes. We connect with certain services at selected locations, including Ennis/Bus Rail Station; Gort, Killaloe, Scariff and Shannon for bus services, and Gort Railway station for train services. Please ensure that you book in advance as such locations are Request Stops.

Our scheduled services do not call to Shannon airport. However, if you need an accessible service to the airport please discuss this with our Dispatchers, they will look at potential options available at the time of your enquiry.

Our buses have limited capacity; we encourage people to book in advance in order to guarantee a seat.

Yes, we register all new passengers on our reservations system prior to travel, taking details such as name, address, telephone numbers and special travel requirements, if any.

Please call our friendly Travel Centre staff on 1890 687 287 or 061 924 375 during opening hours [Mon-Fri 09.00-5.00, Sat 09.00-1.00] or text your enquiry/booking to 086 818 8182 and we will text you back during opening hours.

No. Our vehicles do not have any safe space to carry bicycles. Mobility scooters may be accomodated provided that they can be stored safely.

Yes, Guide Dogs or Assistance Dogs are carried free of charge. For any other animals, please call our Travel Centre for assistance.

With the exception of temporary visitors to the area, we are required to charge an Annual Membership Fee of €10  to all service users from the age of 5 years old. This Membership Fee makes a valuable contribution to the ongoing running costs of the service.

€10 per member from 5 years of age. Children under 5 years old have free membership. Every new member receives their first days travel free of charge, upon paying their initial Membership Fee.

Yes. A family of four or more relatives with the same address can join us on the same date for a reduced rate of 75% of the usual Annual Membership Fee. Any other family members that join us on a different day will pay the full Annual Membership Fee.

Yes, simply register your details online or call our Travel Centre.  Once you are registered on our reservations system, we can then process your booking for you.

Yes. All passengers are asked to book in advance as our buses have a limited capacity.

Yes. All of our buses are accessible to wheelchair users. You have the option of remaining in your wheelchair or transferring to a seat, if you are able to support yourself safely whilst doing so.
